Who we are:

Community Animal Hospital has been providing quality veterinary medicine to pets in the Shrewsbury and surrounding communities since 2000. We offer a wide array of services for dogs, cats, and pocket pets such as surgery (general and orthopedics), preventative care, emergency visits, ultrasound, radiology, laboratory testing, dental procedures, and digital dental imaging. Associate Veterinarian
We are a six-doctor practice looking to grow our medical team. We have an opening for a full time Associate Veterinarian. Our ideal candidate would be well versed in dentistry. This would include digital dental radiology interpretation and advanced experience in extraction techniques. Our candidate would also have surgical capabilities to offer to our clientele.
We have a great support staff and our hospital provides state-of-the-art equipment, including digital x-ray and digital dental x-ray. We are conveniently located just a few miles from the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University for specialist referrals and after-hours emergencies.
We offer an excellent compensation package with a guaranteed base salary plus incentives based on productivity. We will cover the fees associated with malpractice insurance, DEA, state license, and AVMA membership. We also offer a CE allowance and a retirement plan.

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree required and license must be in good standing with the state veterinary board.

Required experience:

  • In practice: 3 years

Veterinary Assistant
We are looking to grow our technical department. We have an immediately opening for a Veterinary Assistant to come join our family.
Our ideal candidate would:

  • Have experience in exam room procedures
  • Be familiar with venipuncture, radiology, laboratory procedures
  • Have basic computer skills
  • Have experience in customer service
  • Be a team player
  • Be able to multitask
  • Be motivated to learn
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Have at least 1 year of experience in a veterinary setting

The schedule for this position includes some nights, Saturday hours, and a holiday/weekend on call rotation.


Veterinary Receptionist
Our Veterinary Receptionists are important part of our team. This position will provide the first and last impressions of our practice. We are looking to add a fulltime Veterinary Receptionist to our hospital!
Responsibilities of our receptionists include but are not limited to greeting clients/patients, checking in and out patients, scheduling appointments, managing our multi line phone system, payment processing, as well as other projects needed to maintain a high level of customer service for our clients.
Our ideal candidate would:

  • Have experience in veterinary reception
  • Have basic computer skills
  • Have the ability to learn our electronic medical record system
  • Have experience in offering excellent customer service
  • Be a team player
  • Be able to multitask and prioritize in a busy clinical setting
  • Be motivated to learn
  • Have excellent communication skills to offer on the phone or in person
  • Be able to convey the passion we have for clients/patients
  • Have at least 1 year of experience

The schedule for this position will include some nights and Saturday hours.


Veterinary Technician
We have an immediate opening for an experienced Veterinary Technician to come join our family. 

Our ideal candidate would:

  • Have experience with dental and surgical patients
  • Be well versed in venipuncture, radiology, laboratory procedures, anesthesia monitoring, and exam room functions
  • Have basic computer skills
  • Act as a mentor to other team members

The schedule for this position includes some nights, Saturday hours, and a holiday/weekend on call rotation.


Veterinary Technician Supervisor
We have an opening for an experienced Veterinary Technician Supervisor to come join our team.
Our ideal candidate would:

  • Have 1 year of supervisor experience
  • Have 5 or more years of technical experience including the areas of surgery and dentistry
  • Be a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT)
  • Be a great leader
  • Be a mentor and provide the team with the most up to date information about changes within the field
  • Motivate the team to do and be the best they can
  • Be a problem solver
  • Manage the day to day activities of the technical department which includes scheduling, staff reviews, and addressing any employee/client concerns-Identify challenges within the department and create solutions
  • Be able to direct the department based on the needs of the hospital
  • Oversee the technical aspects of the team including training as well as further developing employee skill sets
  • Coach the team in reaching individual and department goals

The schedule for this position may include some nights, Saturday hours to cover employee time off, and a holiday/weekend on call rotation when the need occurs.

Community Animal Inn and Spa is our boarding and grooming facility located at the lower level of Community Animal Hospital.  We have the following positions available:

Animal Care Attendant
We have an immediate opening for an Animal Care Attendant to join our team.
Our ideal candidate would:

  • Have experience caring for dogs and cats
  • Be familiar with the common care techniques
  • Have basic computer skills
  • Have experience in customer service
  • Be a team player
  • Be able to multitask
  • Be motivated to learn
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Have at least 1 year of experience working with animals


The schedule for this position includes weekend as well as holiday hours.


Groomer
Community Animal Inn and Spa has been in business since 2000.  We have built a following of wonderful dedicated clients who turn to us to keep their pets looking their best.  We are excited to be growing our grooming department!  We are looking for an experienced full time/part-time groomer to add to our team to expand our accommodations for grooming appointments.  If you have tools, we have the tubs, cages, dryers, and grooming supplies.  We have a dedicated and friendly staff that is able to schedule and cash out your clients.   Compensation is commission based and competitive for the industry.
