Dog & Cat Grooming

At Community Animal Inn and Spa, we take great pride in offering excellent, professional grooming services for dogs and cats in Shrewsbury, Worcester, Grafton, Westborough and the Northborough areas. We have two dedicated groomers on our staff, Amber Barrows, and Valerie Hoegen who are highly trained pet groomers and experienced in all breed types.

Pet Grooming Services

We are a full-service pet grooming center, providing a large variety of options for your pet. Your dog or cat is treated gently and without tranquilizers. We limit the number of appointments scheduled per day so that special care and attention can be devoted to your pet.

We offer grooming 7 days a week! Some of our grooming services include:

  • Hydrosurge® spa bath with warm water and shampoo to wash away unpleasant odors, thoroughly clean, and provide a soothing, gentle massage. Your pet will also enjoy a luxurious coat conditioner, fluff and dry and a relaxing brush out.
  • Spa groom – a spa groom begins with a spa bath (see above), gentle ear cleansing and nail trimming, followed by a breed specific style with a hand scissor finish.
  • Nail trims
  • Medicated or specialty shampoo baths (you are also welcome to bring your own shampoo if your pet has a special kind)
  • Re-moisturizing or conditioning hair treatments
  • All breed standard and specialty haircuts
  • All breed cat grooming
…and more! If you’re curious about additional grooming services offered by Community Animal Inn and Spa, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Meet Our Groomers

Amber Barrows

Amber Barrows

Amber has always loved animals of all kinds. She attended college pursuing a degree in Biology. During her time in college she worked on several research projects involving sea animals. It was then she knew she really wanted to work with animals.

Amber has a special heart for dogs and decided to pursue a career involving them.

She started out as a bather at PetSmart in 2013. In 2014 she attended grooming academy at PetSmart where she learned how to make dogs look and feel their best.

She joined the team at Community Inn and Spa in March of 2018. She absolutely loves working with the dogs and building relationships with them and their families. She looks forward to meeting new friends and seeing old ones as well!

Anna Lindfors

Anna has always been involved with animals since she was very little. Her love for animals led to her becoming a bather at Petsmart in 2014.  In April 2015 she enrolled in their Grooming Academy to be a groomer. Your pet’s comfort and health during grooming is very important to Anna.  To keep updated with the latest in the industry she attends continuing grooming education seminars whenever possible. Anna became a groomer at Community Animal Inn & Spa in September 2019.

When she is not grooming, she works with her Belgian Sheepdog at a sheep farm, she loves to travel, and she is busy caring for her ducks and cat. She is very excited to meet and care for the dogs and cats that come to the inn and spa!

Allison Clark

Allison Clark has worked in the animal care field for over 15 years.  She attended Norfolk County Agricultural High School (NCAHS) and graduated in 2006 with a major in pet shop  management.

She studied animal care at Becker College and has over 13 years of experience in a grooming/kennel environment.  She is certified in Pet First Aid and CPR.  She prides herself on being able to read body language of the pets she comes into contact with to be able to understand their temperament.

Pet Grooming in Shrewsbury: Valerie Hoegen

Valerie Hoegen

Grooming has been a passion of Valerie’s since she first became a bather at PetSmart back in 2015. Though hired as a bather she strived to reach all required goals to attend PetSmart Grooming Academy, which she achieved in January 2016.

Valerie’s love for animals brought her to Community Animal Inn & Spa in October 2018. Her love and passion for animals big and small is grows each day she gets to pamper them. It is her goal to have every client come in happy and leave even happier, and her dream to make every dog look and feel great no matter what condition they come in.

She is honored everyday to have work with all our furry friends and get to know each one for who they are and build a lasting relationship with them.

Jordan Flynn

Jordan has always known she wanted to work with animals since she was a child. As soon as she was old enough to work she got a job at her local doggie daycare.

In 2016, she moved on to PetSmart where she learned how to groom through their academy. Jordan joined the Community Animal Inn & Spa team in September of 2019.  She is extremely excited to get to know and pamper all of your dogs and cats!

When Jordan is not grooming, she enjoys reading and watching Netflix with her cat, Archer.
